In a sense, Jane Eyre was one of the very first feminist novels to be published. Not only in it's story line and plot, but in the fact that it was a woman writing about this sort of thing in this time period. Charlotte Bronte may have been one first women to introduce feminism as a way of thinking, even if that was not her intent.
